Easy Italian Bread

5:00 PM

Have you ever made one loaf of bread a day, everyday, all the time, for as long as you can remember? Me neither. But it sure dose seem to be going this way. I love bread. Who doesn't?

This recipe is from here.

Is there really truly anything more fun to make than bread? I'm obsessed.

Dissolve 1 envelope of active dry yeast and 1 teaspoon sugar in 1 cup of warm water.

In another bowl mix 2 cups flour, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, and 1 teaspoon salt.

Slowly mix in yeast mixture.

Let mix for 1 minute.

Mix in remaining 1 cup of flour. Mix for 5 minutes.

Let rise in a dark, warm place for 1/2 hour or until it has doubled in size.

Punch the dough and then let rise again for 10 minutes.

Kneed dough for a minute and then roll into a loaf. Cut three diagonal lines across the loaf.

Bake at 400 degrees for 16 minutes.

Let cool, devour.
